Transantiago

The public transport has been very important because de development and increase of Sanbtiago’s size, which has generated more remote places.
The old transport system –before 2007- in Santiago was having problems because buses were very old, and the forms of payment to drivers were not ok, they had commission related to the number of "cut tickets".
This “commission payment” generated races between the drivers of the old buses to take more passengers –it was dangerous. and in the case of schoolchildren, they are unable to take the bus, because they paid less and that was not convenient for the bus drivers.
The good thing was that the busses were faster –if you arrived at your destination alive- and if you were nice with the divers he can transpot you for less Money.
In 2007 the government decided to implement a new plan of “transports” called Transantiago, the main objetives of this new plan was to establish new routes to make easier and reduce.
On february 10th of 2007, this plan started to work and it was a disaster, the people became animals, they were desperate to get on time to their jobs, bus stops were collapsed, the map designed for “understand” the transantiago -the routes and the number of each bus- was huge and nobody knew how to read it.
Now the people now better about the routes of this system, but the bad coordination of the frequency on tours continues causing "jams", and that it’s very uncomfortable, because it makes people more irritable, and most of the time they star to push and fight.
Other bad point is the design of the buses, they are built for taller people, and in Chile it’s even funny to see how peolpe do not reach the hangers and move across the bus like tarzan –hanger to hanger-
On the other hand, the “Bip system” has made the public transport safer, specially for the drives because they do not handle money, and it’s cleaner than the old one, except when the drunks urinating in the buses on weekends.
Considering these points, the main change I would apply would be the frequency of the tours, because I consider that wait a lot of time and be crowded it’s the most unpleasant of this system.
At this momment Transantiago it’s improving, and in fact I learned to love it a litle.

PJ Harvey

Well I´m going to talk about the best music group ever, PJ Harvey.
Polly Harvey-the singer and guitarist- is from England. The first album was launched in 1992 and it was called “Dry” with a rock sound. On the fourth album “To bring you my love” she includes blues sound. The sound of PJ Harvey has influenced many alternative and indi bands all over North America and England; she is a very recognized artist in the world of music, and independent music style.
In 1992 the magazine Rolling Stone named Best New Artist and Best Songwriter in 1992 and Artist of the Year 1995, and placed two of his albums on his list of top 500 albums of all time.
She has received several nominations and awards like: Mercury Music Prize in 2001, seven nomination for the Brit Awards, five nomination for the Grammy Awards and in 2002 she was chosen like the “number one female rocker” on Q magazine.
The topics of her songs are about life histories, common for everyone. One of my favorite it´s a tribute that she made to Jeff Buckley (American singer-songwriter and guitarist) called Memphis; It talk about the love and friendship, the sound It’s great!!!!
Here is the letter:

You breathing into my mouth

I'll take itI'll take it for you

You wanna sing

Then sing it for me

You got somehitng

Left to say

Untie me

We're taking away

Unlikely

Out of time

When you still got

So much to sayI'll write it

A song for you

But ohWhat a way to go

So peaceful

You're smiling

Oh what a way to go

I'm with youI'm singing

You said

There's a special place

And it's scaring

The shit out of me

In Memphis

On Valentine's day

You wrote it

In a letter to me

Well I wish I had given you more time

To say thank you

My beautiful friend

But sometimes you gotta send it away

To bring it

To bring it back again

But oh what a way to go

So peaceful

He's smiling

Oh what a way to goI'm with you

I'm singing

You'll always

Have open eyes

You'll always

Have a special place

In Memphis

On Valentine's day

Die suddenly

At a wonderful age

We're ready

We're ready to go

When you still got so much to say

Somehow I know

You drank and stole

Receiving just everything

But oh

What a way to go

So peaceful

You're smiling

Oh what a way to go

I know that you're smiling

Oh What a way to goSo peaceful

I'm singing

Oh What a way to goI know that

You're smiling

You're peaceful

You're smiling

You're peaceful

You're smiling

I know that

You're smiling

You're peaceful

You're smiling...

Advantages and disvantages of last term.

Last term we had six subjects of very different contents, some theory of social anthropology, linguistics, fisical anthropology and some of latin american history.
In this case, the best subject that we had was Theory of Anthropology III, it was about historical materialism and ecological anthropology, we learned and like it a lot, because the teacher had great knowledge on the subject and the theory was applicable to concrete topics as the impact of the energy crisis in the car industry, investigations that are real and have big importance to our society for, in this case, the aplication of preventive measures for save energy.
On the other hand, we had a subject called Latin American History that was a real disaster because of the teacher and the contents that he picked. This case it was really sad, because the subject had enough potential to present a formidable class and contents that alow us to learn a lot about our history and identity as a latin american people.
Besides of all the problems that we had with this subject the term was very hard, specially the end of it. We had to hand it a lot of paper works and study for many final test, so I didn’t have time to practice any kind of extra-programative activities, or go out sometimes with my friend, because I was so tired that I prefer to stay at home with my family.

A country I would like to visit

Well this is a task that I havent tought very much, because I don't have the money to do it in this momment, so I hope start to travel when I have a job that allows me to do it.I would like to visit in first place Perú, specially Machupicchu, this was an important Inka(1400 a.c) city located at Cuzco on the mountains(known by them as "the navel of the world").The Inka empire was was very influential and expanded to the central area of central Chile.
Because Machupicchu it's located at mountains, the construction of this place was built in terraces for the cultivation of potatoes and quinoa. This place has a very difficult access, this is why when spanish arrived Perú ( in that momment known as Vireinato del Perú) they couldn't find it in first place, so it was a kind of refuge for the Inkas form the foreing invasion.
I would like to go there because this is an important monument of American culture, also this place has an amazing architecture, that it has about six hundred years, so I think that is essential to go there, because I live fairly near from there, and I need to visited before I decide to travel to other continents like Europe.
Maybe I would like to study about Inka's culture deeply and if I decide for archeology area, could work in excavations or museum studyng collections.
